Magic Exists:
I believe in magic and that dreams really do come true. I also believe that is my dharma (duty) in this lifetime is to help uplift humanity and I do with joy and utmost compassion. Learning to have compassion for myself has been a game-changer for me because it has allowed me to develop a level of love and trust for myself, which allows me to see others more clearly and in a higher state of love.
When everything fell apart…
In 2008, I was 70 lbs overweight and on the brink of a divorce after 15 years of marriage. I had reached a point in my life where I was financially, emotionally, and spiritually bankrupt, and my children were hurting. I found myself with the foundation of who I thought I was crumbled beneath my feet, and I held the jackhammer in my hand.
My breakdown was a culmination of each choice I had made, both conscious and unconscious, that had led me to my current state. At that time, I lacked the skills to accept ownership for my role in the heartaches and failures, so I ran—as I had done so many times before—in order to not feel or see myself for who I really was. I thank God that I eventually had the insight to run into the hot room of a Bikram Yoga studio.
Yoga and Nutrition Saved My Life
Fast-forward to today and I am a woman significantly transformed. I became a certified yoga instructor in 2012 and shortly after before a Holistic Nutrition Coach specializing in Plant-Based Nutrition.
I have pursued various modalities and trainings as a means to not only build upon my strengths as a teacher but as a human being. There was palpable healing that took place when I became a practitioner of yoga; So this is why I continue to practice, this is why I learn, this is why I teach.
My Teaching Style
I am dedicated to helping people become the best versions of themselves. Whether working with a client or a student, I approach each person’s journey with compassion, but we don’t take the easy or familiar path. True transformation requires digging deep and confronting the challenges beneath the surface.
It’s important to note that “results” don’t always refer to visible, outward changes. Instead, they often involve clearing away the emotional and mental clutter that lingers just below the surface, creating space for genuine growth and healing.
Business Experience
I spent the first 14 years of my career in various aspects of retail banking, real estate, insurance and have owned several businesses including a group home for teens and a transitional home for women in recovery. The next 10 years of my professional career was spent in Higher Education as a Globally recognized expert in design, development, and implementation. My years of business experience combined with training in holistic modalities have proved invaluable, allowing me to support those I guide from an intellectual, experiential, and intuitive perspective.
I hold a Master of Science Degree in Adult Learning, a BS in Psychology, and a Graduate Business Certificate from Walden University.
As a yoga and meditation teacher,
I have been recognized by Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 500 Certified Yoga Instructor since 2013 and an RYT 200 Kundalini Yoga teacher since 2015.
