The Importance of Consistent Effort in Coaching

In my coaching practice, one of the core principles I emphasize is, "You get out what you put in." This means that for real change to occur, clients must be willing to do the inner work and put in consistent effort. Transformation and mental reprogramming take time and unwavering commitment. It’s not going to be easy, but the journey is profoundly rewarding.

When I say that sessions will be "very impactful" and that "you'll get a lot out of it," I mean it. The sessions are designed to be transformative, providing a safe, non-judgmental space for you to share your story openly. However, it's important to understand that while these sessions are crucial, they are not enough on their own. The real magic starts to happen in the journaling, writing, and embodiment practices between sessions. These practices are even more important than the sessions themselves.

Clients underestimate the importance of post-session journaling work and, as a result, do not dedicate sufficient time and priority to it. This lack of commitment hinders their progress and prevents deeper mental reprogramming and lasting transformation.

This is where much of the deeper reprogramming happens, and neglecting this aspect can hinder your progress. The intense release and insights gained during sessions might give you the false impression that the inner work is done. But true mental reprogramming requires consistent effort over time through journaling, affirmations, and other practices between sessions. The sessions create openings for change, but deeper rewiring happens gradually through ongoing commitment to the entire process, not just during peak experiences.

Taking time out of your busy life to journal may seem impossible, and it's easy to deprioritize journaling because it doesn't appear as urgent or pressing as other tangible tasks and responsibilities in your life. However, journaling is perhaps more valuable than these obvious responsibilities. Your current life is shaped by your past thoughts, beliefs, and decisions. By prioritizing journaling, you can gain new insights and clarity, revealing things you hadn't noticed before. This fresh perspective helps you understand yourself and your circumstances better, leading to improved decision-making. As a result, these better decisions will lead to transformative changes in your life.

Journaling requires dedicated solitary time. By committing to this practice, you activate the power to achieve deeper mental reprogramming. It is through journaling and reflection that the crucial work of reprogramming and deconstructing old beliefs and patterns takes place. In sessions, we gain powerful insights, but it's through the writing exercises between sessions that you process emotions, explore new perspectives, and embody positive affirmations at an internal level.

Journaling allows for the repetition and reflection necessary to consciously install new neural pathways and beliefs over old conditioning. Simply talking through issues provides relief, but writing solidifies changes on a deeper cognitive and spiritual level. Making journaling a priority is what separates those who have surface breakthroughs from those who achieve full transformation of their mindset and identity.

In summary, if you want to experience true transformation, you must commit to the entire process. Your coach and others are in your corner, but your healing is your responsibility, and it is only you who can make the change. Your rate of growth will directly correspond to how committed you are to the process.
